Tax and Statutory Manager

Basic Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.Minimum 4 years of Tax and Audit experience.Pharmaceuticals experience is a must.Experience in financial reporting, preparation of statutory accounts, implementation of new accounting standards and experience in differences between IFRS, UKGAAP and USGAAP.Experience with external audit and engagement with Tax inspectors/agents.Good knowledge and experience in local Tax compliance requirements.External audit experience and familiarity of the global Financial statements and disclosure requirements.High proficient in the ability to communicate, lead discussions and review on tax, audit and finance related matters.Strong understanding of the wider principles of Corporate Tax, Indirect Taxes and Transfer Pricing.

Knowledge of the regulations and reporting requirements for listed companies in Egypt Stock Exchange.

Job Purpose

The Tax and Statutory Reporting Manager will be accountable for the execution and delivery of Tax, Transfer Pricing (TP) and Statutory Reporting requirements.

Major Responsibilities Include

Provide first line financial leadership and ensure legal, regulatory and tax compliance are working closely with the region to achieve objectives.Ensure the provision of accurate and compliant financial and tax reporting services to GSK and external authorities on behalf of GSK Egypt.Ensure the preparation of EAS adjustments and complete statutory accounts templates, compile information required to draft statutory disclosures, co-ordinate completion of direct tax disclosures co-ordinate external audit and resolve queries raised.Oversee the Group’s Tax reporting process, including organizing deliverables and time table calculating material EAS adjustments and review of the tax calculations.Co-ordinate corporate tax compliance processes on behalf of GSK Egypt; including, monitoring tax risks and reviewing the quarterly risk questionnaires.Coordinate preparation of Indirect Tax and statistical returns processes.Gather relevant financial information to calculate relevant intra group pricing of products and services.Carry out historical review of legal entity profitability to ensure compliance with GSK Transfer pricing policies, liaising with Global Tax on exceptions and material markets.Co –ordinate tax and Transfer Pricing (TP) audits,) liaise with Global Tax to provide support in responding to queries and resolving tax disputes.Manage escalations from global tax and external authorities.Manage the statutory audit process for the in Country Shared Services teamsOther support and analysis activities as required to support the needs of Global Tax and /or Market Finance Partners /FD.Work closely with the risk management function to ensure services provided are complaint and risks are managed.Review processes and seek to communicate and implement changes to improve efficiency.Drive process improvements for the Tax, Transfer Pricing and Statutory Reporting activities.Identify opportunities for utilizing technology solutions to improve the efficiency and quality of the service delivery and work closely with the global tax/ GSK Corporate and regional Finance.
