Radio and Satellite Services Engineer - Egyptian Nationals Only

JOB OBJECTIVE



The Defense Service Center (DSC) is hiring skilled staff in different technical and technological domains to respond to our customers’ needs in services and support and constitite a professional services base for DSC activities and expertise in Egypt.



The DSC is thus hiring a Radio and satellite service engineer. The candidate would join a team of engineers working in direct relationship and support of our customers and end-users in various technical and technological domains in the areas of expertise of Thales. He/she will work on service projects in the area of telecommunications during their warranty and after-warranty service contracts to ensure optimal operation of customer equipment and systems.



The candidate should be having the following profile



Roles & Responsibilities



Satellite Ground segment activities

• This selected candidate will be deployed by the DSC as a local engineer to ensure warranty and support services for satellite ground segments in collaboration with Thales relevant Business Lines
• The candidate will also participate in elaborating local service offers in response to Signal Department requests regarding satellite ground services, in addition to the warranty contractual perimeter
  
  

Customer’s Central Workshop activities

• The candidate will also be responsible for working in close relationship with the customer’s central workshop staff to resolve pending technical issues for maintenance and repair.
• He/She will participate to workshops held between Thales Business Lines (BL) and customers representing the DSC, and participate to local activities to support BLs in achieving action plans, in following-up with the customer and deploying actions on behalf of the BL locally
• The candidate will also ensure reporting to BLs on action plans and liaise with BL PoCs for follow-up and information concerning customer’s requests and equipment status
• He/She will also participate in developing service proposals to support and advise the customer in modernizing their workshops
• This candidate will also ensure some of the trainings necessary for customer’s staff in their environment
  
  

Work Experience Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
• Experience in RF systems/SATCOM troubleshooting
• Experience in UHF/VHF/HF Communications and equipment
• Knowledge in satellite communications (satellite ground terminal architectures, equipment of the reception and transmission chain, modulation, coding, link budget)
• Excellent customer relationship
• Social intelligence and good relationships with Thales entities
• Good team player
• Intermediate level in operation and maintenance of communication system with their ancillaries (generators, UPS, air-conditioning, etc.)
• Mandatory: Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Egyptian driving license
  
  

Qualification, Certification & Educational Requirements

BSC in electronics and/or telecommunications Engineering or equivalent

Preferred Skills



The following skills would be a plus:

• Navy systems engineering experience in the area of Communications Systems, Networks, and Integration and Testing
• Technical support experience
• Fluent French (reading, writing, speaking)
• Existing or passed military clearance
