Job Purpose

To ensure the delivery of accurate and relevant management information (MI) and analysis regarding the COO functions to support business in Improvement plans and decision making. Participating in innovating ideas to enhance the function performance.

Specific Job Purposes Are

Working very closely with the COO Heads, and Maintain a proper MIS reports and packs. Provide the performance and productivity related MIs and analysis.

Main accountabilities and approximate time split

Management Information and performance & productivity related analysis

50-60% Prepares and generates the daily, weekly and monthly MI packages for the COO departments with all the related in-depth analysis to have clear vision of the COO department’s performance.

Prepares MI analysis, reports & feedback for COO MI team to enhance the existing performances. Prepares MI analysis and reports for all the COO functions to set targets and monitor the progress. Prepares MI analysis and reports for different operational team (Example Assessment to manage the application volumes and authorization process). Participates in the Delivery of projects specified by the COO MI team in conjunction with change ensuring that quality deliverables are produced within agreed timeframes. Analyzes the COO Departments performance outcome data of existing processes to gain insight as to why a particular approach is or is not working, and then devise the next round based on the learnings. Provides the Finance, Marketing & Strategic Planning departments with the indicators reports. Maintains data integrity by reconciling MI and figures against independent sources.

Process Enhancement

5-10% Work on enhancing the daily / monthly operating process.

Enhancements and testing changes in COO MI database

Customer Value & Cross-Sell

25-30% Provides feedback analyses on the cross-sell performance to improve the cross-sell.

Provides MI and analyses to identify the best customers’ profile for new cross-sell opportunities.

COO Departments Performance

10-15% Prepares monthly MI reports for the COO departments that cover the unit’s performance and productivity.

Technical skills / Competencies

Excellent interpersonal & networking skills, with strong ability to influence. Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills are a necessity. Strong knowledge of products, services, systems and policies. Strong knowledge of process management. Experienced in analysing root cause. A good understanding of operational risk. Extensive knowledge in data management and analysis of Operational Banking. Advanced knowledge of financial and economic principals, present value and break-even analysis. Excellent numerical and data manipulation skills. Intermediate SQL programmer, able to work fluently with various large data sets. Excellent Computer skills.

Knowledge, Expertise and Experience

Knowledge, Qualifications/ Experience

A good understanding of the various functions in the bank e.g. Retail, Corporate, Ops & IT. Advanced knowledge of business drivers and issues in an unsecured lending business. Wide-ranging Retail Banking knowledge. Minimum 4 years of management information experience.
