Director of Logistics

When you think of food delivery in the MENA region, we’d be pretty surprised if talabat didn’t pop into your mind first! Since delivering our first order in Kuwait in 2004, we’ve grown quite a lot over the past 17 years.

Today, we deliver hundreds of millions of food orders, grocery items and other products per year, to our customers in nine countries throughout the region with more than 3,000+ employees! Our food delivery business works with over 27,000 brands and almost 50,000 branches, while our q-commerce concept, talabat mart, now delivers groceries to customers in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman Qatar, and the UAE in 30 minutes or less!

Role Summary

Role Scope

·       Lead and shape the UAE logistics strategy and operations collaborating closely with leadership teams within UAE, Regional and Delivery Hero

·       Collaborate closely with Talabat Regional Logistics teams.

·       Lead the strategy and continuous development and improvement of the fleet partner relationship, ensuring winning with our rider heroes is a shared vision with our fleet partners.

·       Drive continuous improvement and innovation on our rider experience across compliance, health and safety, welfare and wellbeing.

·       Lead strategic and operational improvement projects with high priority for the Country and major cost impact across logistics,

·       Be responsible for enabling growth opportunities for our core and new business verticals - including q-commerce, by ensuring robust while flexible operations

·       You define product needs and work closely with our central logistics and operations teams on improving the tooling you need to maximize efficiencies

·       You have a hands-on approach and love going into details to better understand and shape solutions to our daily operational needs.

Technical knowledge, Skills, Experience

·       You gained at least 10+ years of professional experience in a top-tier management consulting, tech, food delivery or mobility company or in a dynamic logistics role, with at least 2+ years in a senior leadership role

·       Experience in setting up and running contact centers and / or managing contact center providers is a plus

·       You have excellent management and leadership skills

·       You have a hands-on mentality, drive, and exceptional analytical skills

·       You are highly motivated and communicative, very energetic and independent in handling business challenges

·       You are comfortable and have the ability to achieve goals in a dynamic and high pressure, entrepreneurial environment and are capable of shaking the status quo

·       You have excellent English language skills
