At Udacity, Frontend developers play a central role in the development and delivery of Udacity's product, marketing, and marketing projects. We are looking for a team member who possesses strong front-end development skills, pays pixel-perfect attention to details, and has a keen eye for clean and polished UI implementation. As a frontend developer, you will collaborate with marketing/design, product managers, and other engineers to implement elegant, maintainable, and usable solutions to frontend development problems.

Responsibilities

Build and ship amazing student experiences. Engineer the libraries and frameworks that power our frontend stack. Tackle tough design and product problems. Work cross-functionally with marketing, design, and engineering teams to polish the product and marketing experience. Take full ownership of projects from design to implementation and deployment.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in a web-developer role. Strong web design aesthetic and understanding of the fundamentals of UX, cross-browser compatibility and performance issues. Mastery of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Knowledge of React and/or Angular. Experience working with RESTful APIs. Experience with Chrome/Safari/Firefox developer tools. Experience with npm and gulp. Understanding of web performance profiling and optimization. Able to rapidly execute mockups/wireframes. A passion for emerging web standards, design systems and a desire to build well-engineered reusable front-end components for our living style guide. You promote best practices and great usability. A track record of being able to ship code, both independently and as part of a small team. You can manage your own time, fulfill several project requests, and meet tight deadlines.
