Big Data Engineer (_VOIS)

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
 
•    Good communication skills, with proven ability to work cross functional teams to translate business issues into potential analytics solutions ((listening, questioning, challenging etc.)
•    Analytical thinker, familiar with complex technologies, programming languages  
•    Remain up-to-date in terms of current (and future) technologic trends

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

•    Proficient in one or more object  oriented programming languages (i.e Scala, Python), SQL
•    Strong knowledge of DBMSs and data warehousing technologies (especially HBase and Hive)
•    Strong understanding of the Spark framework and its abstractions (RDDs, DataFrames, Streaming etc.)
•    Strong understanding of data integration technologies such as Kafka and Flume 
•    Strong understanding of distributed systems and databases
•    Knowledge and experience on using the Hadoop tools ecosystem 
•    Scripting, command line and operating systems administration knowledge – Linux bash and Windows PowerShell
•    Knowledge on web service architectures (SOAP, REST)
•    Knowledge of CI/CD process and tools

Preferred technical/professional experience

•    Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, MIS or a related Analytical field. 
•    Knowledge of Agile methodologies namely Scrum and Kanban
