Duties and responsibilities
1- Designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems for industrial, commercial or domestic purposes.
2- Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
3- Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
4- Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings or topographical maps.
5- Establishing construction, manufacturing or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
6- Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support or testing activities.
7- Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
8- Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
9- Supervising or training project team members.
10- Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation.
11- Perform regular maintenance on existing systems and design maintenance schedules for all systems to ensure they remain in proper working order.
12- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
13- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
14- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
15- Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors
