About the roleYou will lead and manage the team based in Egypt, which also supports customers in Sudan, markets which have significant potential for growth, in pursuit of OUP’s Mission Success Factors and ELT’s Strategic Objectives. Key responsibilities of the roles will include: Marketing, promotional activity and co-ordination of activity within Egypt and Sudan Liaising with local distributors/agents, including facilitating discussions with OUP about agreements with them. Ensuring appropriate product placement in key segments and plan and carry out all the promoting activities to ensure an optimal cost/benefit ratio. Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance of the offices in Egypt, acting accordingly when required to uphold the highest standards of the OUP Code of Conduct. To lead, motivate and develop the team in order to ensure delivery of cost and marketing budgets and effective return on publishing and marketing investment.
About you The ideal candidates will possess the following experience and qualities: Experience of creating and implementing marketing and business plans Wide range of people management skills (including managing at a distance) Knowledge of education/ELT environment in order to be credible with key stakeholders Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at senior level (ministry of education, senior managers) Fluent in English; fluency in Arabic is highly desirable Full driving licence, working papers and residency Willingness to undertake extensive national and international travel commitments and unsociable hours
