Procurement Engineer for Summit Construction

Summit Construction is now hiring Procurement Engineer,
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to identify and qualify new vendors for construction materials, equipment, and services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, fostering long-term partnerships and securing favorable terms.
• Regularly evaluate vendor performance based on quality, price, and delivery reliability.
• Negotiate and finalize purchase contracts with vendors, ensuring they align with project requirements, budget constraints, and company policies.
• Manage contract execution, monitor performance, and address any discrepancies or delays promptly.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts and supplier relationships.
• Implement and maintain best practices in Purchasing, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
• Analyze market trends and identify opportunities to reduce purchasing costs without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure efficient material requisition and avoid overstocking or shortages.
• Partner with project teams to understand material requirements, specifications, and delivery schedules.
• Provide clear and concise communication to vendors, internal stakeholders, and project managers on purchasing activities and updates.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (must), knowledge of Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3-6years of experience in construction purchasing or a related field.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills to secure favorable deals with vendors and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost-saving opportunities and resolve procurement challenges.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of procurement.
