Job Description

Background

This job opening is at 50% part-time status.

The project is institutionalizing required employability services within the youth communities in Egypt transforming the centers to provide full employability eco-system from career advising, training, job placement and entrepreneurship for the youth population in the 21st century.

The project will allow the centers to foster the development of entrepreneurial skills and to promote creativity, personal initiative and independent thinking among young people bridging the gap between the educational system and the job market needs in Egypt.

The purpose of the proposed project is to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in computer science among young Egyptian women enabling young women to develop technology solutions that addresses societal challenges and contribute to the growth of the national economy. The project aims at inspiring young women to learn about opportunities for young women in computer science, upgrade and enhance their knowledge in computer science bridging the gap between public education and job market needs; and creating entrepreneurial opportunities for them. The project addresses gender balance through providing talented young women with opportunities to access computer science training and capacity building resources as well as attain a job or become self-employed as developers. The project establishes the first innovation center for women in Egypt helping to demonstrate the ability of young women to become successful developers and entrepreneurs and provide a proto-type that can be replicated across Egypt. It also creates an innovation hub where young women can incubate innovative solutions that are both economically viable and at the same time address challenges facing women in Egypt.

Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for implementation of Innovation for Development Projects involving: Developing background research-related inputs to the I4D programme. Coordinating with staff members of potential partner NGOs, Public and Private Sector. Giving research and implementation-related inputs. Developing background information notes and databases. Accountable for Preparation and finalization of concept notes and project proposals, Baseline and end-line evaluation of projects. Efficiently developing project monitoring and reporting templates. Undertaking field surveys of project implementation areas and preparing reports. Monitoring and evaluating the organizations work/ projects and contributing by delivering ideas. Handling various activities pertaining to Project management like Project planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring, Fund Management, Resource Management, Crisis, and event management. Maintaining overall coordination and supervision of the project components and staff under the project and keep the team informed of any relevant development in the programmes.

Required Skills And Experience

University degree is a must in Computer Science or Engineering or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in Project Management. Experience in labor market is desired. Experience in Technical prgramme management. Strong partnership engagement is required. Fluent in Arabic and English with the ability to effectively communicate information and ideas. Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent planning, organizational, administrative and analytical skills. Willingness and ability to travel within the country.
