Job Description



The role

The Family Planning/Reproductive Health Delivery Training Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing training and supervision interventions to improve the quality of care of FP/RH services in collaboration with our program staff. The Training Specialist for FP/RH delivery will also be responsible for supporting and providing quality services through knowledgeable and skilled providers. S/he will provide technical leadership to strengthen community-based FP/RH service delivery; implement activities to strengthen FP community based service delivery; and utilize evidence-based best practices to inform the scale up of FP community based interventions. The Specialist will also identify ways in which FP/RH training can be sustained and inclusive of both clinical and counseling skills. With a strong focus on the geographic areas of nine governorates of Upper Egypt and the slum areas, this role will be an integral part of collaborating with local resources in order to foster sustainability for this program across these critical districts.

Qualifications and experience

An MD or MBBS is required.An additional Degree in Public Health, social sciences or other relevant course of study is a plus;USAID health project implementation experience in the public and private sectors is desired;Minimum of 10 years of experience in international public health in the fields of maternal health, family planning and reproductive health;At least 7 years' experience in FP/RH training and/or service delivery experience;Expertise in FP/RH technical skills training, FP/RH counseling skills; capacity building of health workers and institutions; quality improvement are highly desirable;Demonstrated skill in written and oral communications;Demonstrated knowledge of USAID policies and procedures;Able to work effectively in, and communicate with, a diverse set of professionals;Strong interpersonal skills, including experience successfully interacting with host government officials, private sector and NGO partners, and other stakeholders;Experience with establishing Public Private Engagement in Health is desired;Fluency in English & Arabic , both verbal and written, required;Commitment to Save the Children International values.

Contract length: One Year
