Qualifications

POSITIONPURPOSE

Assist the Laundry Manager in all aspects of the care and cleaning of guest andassociate laundry, dry cleaning and linen. Responsible forthe selection, supervision, training and coaching of all laundry and valetstaff. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, managingthe administrative function of the department, overseeing the quality of theproduct produced, ensuring that equipment is in good working order and that thedepartment is operating in accordance to OSHA and state safetyregulations.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

-{PS..0}->-{PS..1}->Supervise, select, train,coach, and counsel staff. Maintain Marriottpolicies and procedures. Schedule staffin accordance to occupancy demands.

-{PS..2}->-{PS..3}->Supporting the LaundryManager in the administrative functions of the laundry department. Process paperwork accurately and in a timelymanner, conduct and oversee inventory of linen, comply production informationfor reporting purposes, and perform forecasting and department budget on amonthly and annual basis.

-{PS..4}->-{PS..5}->Oversee the quality ofproduct produced, ensuring that all equipment is in good, working order andthat the department is operating in accordance to OSHA and state safety regulations. Report malfunctioning equipment immediatelyfor prompt repair.

-{PS..6}->-{PS..7}->Coordinate maintenance andrepair of equipment with Engineering Department.

-{PS..8}->-{PS..9}->Conduct regular departmentmeetings with staff to inform them of pertinent information, such as safety inthe workplace, hotel events, retraining, and guest/occupancy.

-{PS..10}->-{PS..11}->Resolve guest complaints.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

-{PS..12}->-{PS..13}->May be required to work anyof the positions in the laundry.

-{PS..14}->-{PS..15}->Perform cleaning tasksusing standard hotel cleaning products as necessary and assigned.

Physical Demands

-{PS..30}->-{PS..31}->Most work tasks areperformed indoors. Temperature generallyis moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must beable to work in extreme temperatures like laundry room ( 110F), possibly forone hour or more.

-{PS..32}->-{PS..33}->Must be able to sit at adesk for up to 6 hours per day. Walkingand standing are required during the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary fromday to day and task to task.

-{PS..34}->-{PS..35}->Must be able to exertwell-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.

-{PS..36}->-{PS..37}->Must be able to lift up to40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.

-{PS..38}->-{PS..39}->Must be able to push and pullcarts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. frequently.

-{PS..40}->-{PS..41}->Must be able to exertwell-paced ability in limited space.

-{PS..42}->-{PS..43}->Requires grasping, writing,standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listeningand hearing ability and visual acuity.

-{PS..44}->-{PS..45}->Talking and hearing occurcontinuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors andsubordinates.

-{PS..46}->-{PS..47}->Vision occurs continuouslywith the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision anddepth perception.

-{PS..48}->-{PS..49}->Requires manual dexterityto use and operate all necessary equipment.

-{PS..50}->-{PS..51}->Must have finger dexterityto be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-keyadding machine, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filingcabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment asneeded.

Education

High school or equivalenteducation required. Bachelor s Degree preferred.

Experience

Two to three years of experience managing entry-level employees. Minimumtwo years housekeeping/laundry management experience. Some hotel experience required.

Grooming

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearanceper Marriott standards.
