Job Description

You will be resident mechanical engineer located in Cairo, Egypt at Subcontractors office responsible for overseeing the HVAC and Building Services Scope associated with 5 buildings awarded to the Subcontractor.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Act as Technical engineer / coordinator at Subcontractors office in Egypt and coordinate engineering activities between home office and subcontractor’s works.

• Ensures the Project's requirements, as detailed in the Technical Specifications and Subcontract, for all HVAC and building services equipment are met. Coordinate on behalf of home office for progression of design, procurement, manufacturing of equipment at sub-vendor’s facilities to adhere to project schedule.

• Review of key deliverables including but not limited to Equipment Lists, Data Sheets, Ducting and Instrumentation Diagrams, Air Flow Diagrams, HVAC Calculations, OEM Manuals, Inspection and Test Plans, Electrical and Control System drawings

• Coordinating Client Comments on the above deliverables and ensuring they are incorporated.

• Participate in the technical progress meeting at subcontractor’s work and ensure subcontractor understands the technical requirement of the contract and home office engineering requirement.

• Manage the progress of subcontractors purchase orders and report back progress of sub-vendor’s activities, any technical issues, constraints or problems at sub-vendor’s work to the home office in timely manner.

• Monitor the fabrication activities and participate as required in inspections, Non Destructive Tests (NDT) and general surveys of material received at sub-vendor’s works as per approved ITP. Help to smooth progress of activities at sub-vendor’s works by reviewing various reports, records, certificates like material certificates, welder’s qualification certificates etc.

• Expedite subcontractor to submit critical technical documentation in time.

• Help subcontractor in coordinating activities between their sub-vendors for timely delivery of mechanical equipment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in HVAC and Building Services, preferably in the Oil and Gas Industry

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in EPC projects.

• Experience in different inspections and fabrication works in vendor’s shops.

• Working knowledge of BP standards and procedures is preferred
