Reports to the Systems Sales Consulting Director - Middle East & Africa.
Senior technical consultant to partners, customers and account team, with the ability to translate customer business requirements into solutions that leverage Oracle's Engineered Systems, Server and Storage product portfolio. Mentors other members of the pre-sales team, and frequently delivers training and presentations to enrich the organization.
The ideal candidate should have significant experience in IT solutions and IT transformation projects particularly focusing to technical sales of server and storage technologies. The candidate should have the ability to:
Engage with all levels within both Oracle and the customers' organisations
Provide presales support for Key accounts
Co-draft sales strategies together with the account managers
Provide technical support in all necessary sales activities
Define system architecture and solution proposals
Prepare configurations of hardware products and associated infrastructure software
Translate customer requirements into deliverable products and services
Design and participate in technology pilot projects or proof of concept (POC) activities
Define values propositions, positioning and differentiation to competitors products
Support and develop existing customer and partner relationships and skills
Complete the technical requirement for request for information (RFI) and request for proposal (RFP)
Work alongside partners and other third party organizations as required
Help drive sales opportunities to successful completion
Define and drive pre-sales initiatives in target accounts and territories
Represent Oracle a marketing events as required
Actively develop server and storage product expertise
Oracle sales consultants must be excellent communicators, able to develop and articulate complex technological issues in a straightforward way to both decision makers and technical personnel alike.
The candidate must be self motivated and proactive and also be interested in advancing their specific expertise in server and storage technologies and associate software products.
The ideal candidate should have significant experience in IT solutions and IT transformation projects focusing particularly on technical sales of server and storage technologies.
Be an experienced professional with a successful and proven track record in this domain
Have a BSc. or equivalent or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
Have at least 5 years of hardware products pre-sales experience (with at least 10 years of overall IT experience)
Have an excellent command of server and storage technologies and products
Have excellent written, oral and presentation skills
Be able to communicate at management level as well as at a technical expert level.
Have an understanding of key business drivers and competitive landscape in server and storage markets
Be proficient in translating complex business requirements into workable technical solutions
Oracle also require experience and a deep knowledge and understanding of the following areas:
Design of high availability solutions
Disaster recovery, business continuity, data back-up solutions
Virtualization and consolidation practices and methodologies
Design and architecture of complex and mission critical IT solutions entailing server and storage technologies
Multi-tiered client server solutions
Solaris 11 OCP certification is a prerequisite.
Oracle Linux certification is a prerequisite.
Working knowledge in the following areas is an asset:
Design of data centre
Strategic Information systems analysis and planning
Technical design authority role for a large project

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.
As a Senior Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships.
Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools. Demonstrated proficiency in one multi-user operating system. Through knowledge of system and application design. Strong verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable.
