Job description : 

Business Development and Managerial responsibilities

Prospects new projects to identify good leads and take them to the development stage in line with the BU Africa’s Strategy including liaising with other BD team members to ensure the timely relay of information on project development opportunities in areas other than Energy Services (e.g. Power & Gas etc..)  Identify, in consultation with a multidisciplinary team, the best options for all components of a project: equity partnership, ownership structures, financing, etc. Manages the overall development from initiation to commercialization in a competitive environment, often with short deadlines, including the finalization of documents (e.g. consortium, joint development and shareholders agreement…) Identify/propose potential synergies between BU Africa and other ENGIE entities  Represent ENGIE in front of the Egyptian authorities (energy, professional, institutional and political).  Develop the presence of ENGIE in Egypt.  Provide strategic coordination for the Business Development activities in Egypt, articulating with BU AFRICA the strategy, implementing the strategic planning in Egypt and pursue new opportunities for the development of local partnerships.

Merger & Acquisition responsibilities

Map the players of the Energy Services sector and assess market potential for Energy Services in order to build a strategic roadmap for Engie growth in Egypt Define the strategy in M&A and identify potential acquisition targets and opportunities from origination through to final acquisition of the target(s)  Develop a solid working partnership with the M&A Program Manager (BtoX team), and ensure knowledge sharing in a timely manner so as to optimize attractive growth opportunities  Successfully assess new opportunities based on a thorough understanding of the Egyptian energy services business, including markets, technology and competitors; be able to quickly identify attractive opportunities and decline unattractive ones. Initiate financial assessment of the different projects and actively contribute to the “GO/NO GO” decision making process for pursuing new opportunities  Generate new business opportunities via cold calling, responding to inbound leads, attending industry events and responding to structured selling processes Responsible for driving Energy Services sales to a variety of different companies including commercial & industrial businesses, mobile network operators and other large energy users. Develop long term valued relationships with clients. Review and analyze market opportunities and develop recommendations with the support of the regional and headquarter teams. Successfully collect and analyze due diligence information with the support of multidisciplinary teams (AIFA , legal and technical functions). Execute attractive growth opportunities, including Due Diligence of potential M&A targets, negotiating with commercial counterparties, government entities, and other stakeholders on projects / transactions.   Successfully advocate internally for growth opportunities, including completion of internal investment approval memos and presentations to the Investment Committee. Liaise with all internal stakeholders as required to gain sign off and approval at appropriate milestones. Complete internal corporate requirements for reporting on the development of growth opportunities. Prepare, monitor, analyze and approve projects’ budgets, expenses as well as provide follow-up reports  Provides signoffs on the overview and executive project documentation as needed/ required Ensure all active opportunities are entered and maintained in internal reporting system to facilitate the pipeline building and forecasting effort. In liaison with other BU teams, support the post-merger integration of acquired targets. Organize a “Look-back” exercise when required.

Minimum Position Qualifications:  

University education: degree in Engineering, preferably in the electrical field 8 to 10 years’ experience as P&L manager or Senior Business developer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in international business transactions and business development, specifically in the energy sector Prior Egyptian experience is a must Has strong experience in and understanding of the Egyptian market, including legal / regulatory aspects, market environment, competition, stakeholders, counterparties, and other areas that impact growth initiatives Has a strong network of relationships among key stakeholders in the market / industry and the development process  Experience working in the areas of Energy Services, Energy Efficiency, and Renewables is a bonus. Willingness to embrace culture change aimed at improved business and team performance.  Fluent French, Arabic and English
