Safety Lead, BEA Plant

Exciting career opportunity in the Manufacturing function, in the capacity of Safety Lead, BEA Plant, based in Alexandria – Borg el Arab, Egypt.

The main purpose of the role is to provide leadership and administration to the overall HSE program by developing an annual plan, achieving consensus and buy-in from site leadership against the plan, and actively driving the implementation and monitoring progress against the plan and corresponding objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage, coordinate and oversee implementation of all Health, Safety and Environmental (SSE) programs and processes. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and Mondelēz policies and continuous improvement in key identified measures and objectives. Prepares and builds consensus annual plans for plant wide SSE initiatives.

• Plan/Budget/Control annual capital budget for SSE to ensure flawless execution of the HSE plan and adherence to all internal and external compliance standards.

• Drives next level thinking and continuous improvement in the HSE function and company programs/initiatives.

• Provide HSE expertise for the plant for all new projects and change management activities.

• Develop performance standards and methods of accomplishing those standards to measures facilities against. Develops, designs, and has responsibility for the implementation and follow-through of the local processes. Follows up on non-conformances and develops the systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis.

• Understand relevant technical requirements in HSE and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and company policies.

• Ensure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and follow ups implemented to minimize or eliminate accidents, asset losses, security breaches and environmental issues that might cause harm to one of the company’s employees, contractors, visitors, assets or reputation.

• Ensure that the appropriate talent is in placed through training, mentoring, and succession planning and supports development and learning capabilities of plant S&E managers

• Provide linkage to the MEA Regional function by actively participating in policy and best practice development.

• Review performance in S&E and facilitates implementation corrective and preventative actions where required

• Ensure the facility standards are in compliance with both Company and governmental/community regulations

• Ensure training and coaching are taking place to drive a safety-perfect culture and to ensure safety and environmental standards and awareness are well understood throughout the plant organization

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

• 8 years of overall experience in manufacturing environment.

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Environment or Safety.

• Previous experience in working in a Management role will certainly be an advantage.

• Experience working across multiple countries and regions.

• ISC (Integrated Supply Chain) relevant experience (Plant Management).

• Experience in IL6S.

• Fluency in English & Arabic.

• Proficiency in MS office.

• Strong stake holder management skills.

• Experience of working in a multicultural teams and environment.

• Team Player; ability to support and lead to achieve common goals.

• Strong Communication and Presentation skills.

• Problem solving: Proactive and resourceful in solving problems, offering innovative and practical solutions in dynamic environment.
