Job Summary Assists the Deputy Director of Engineering to organize work schedule for Shift Engineers. Follows up all maintenance orders. Performs any other duty that is assigned to him.
Essential Functions To develop a solid operational knowledge of all engineering operational procedures and to be well acquainted with the function of other departments in the Hotel. To submit reports to the Deputy Director of Engineering on the condition of the building and equipment. To continually work with the employees under his supervision in order to improve and maintain the highest standard of departmental operation. To implement safety courses to keep work accidents as low as possible. To assist in implementing a preventive maintenance program that will reduce expenses. To supervise the scheduling and discipline in the Technical Service Dept. To implement fire and evacuation procedures for guests as well as for employees. To supervise and to cooperate the activities of workers involved in the construction of addition or alternation work to ensure the highest standards and to control expenses directly. To develop working relationships within the hotel that will maintain and attain high-level employee morale. To conduct himself in a manner as to encourage fellow employees to do likewise. To be always efficient, courteous and pleasant and to show at all times a helpful attitude and never to talk in a loud voice to other employees. To be aware of all house rules and policies and not only to obey them, but to cooperate in maintaining them.
