Field Service Engineer

You will be working as a Field Service Engineer and will be a based out in Egypt. In this role, you will be reporting to the LBU Service Manager and will be performing remote and on-site service activities for products and/or systems in accordance with customer requirements and ensure timely, cost-effective solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures, and safety guidelines.


Your Responsibilities

• Following ABB OHS regulations with zero tolerance and diagnoses technical problems, determines corrective actions, and repairs drive products and/or systems via remote or on-site service.
• Assessing technical issues to determine if on-site assistance is required and perform all on- site activities in accordance with ABB procedures and safety requirements
• Solving hardware and software functional compatibility problems and mistakes found during service intervention, and replaces faulty hardware or software items involved
• Aiding via service calls during and after hours as necessary and performing remote service assistance using remote connection and diagnostics tools
• Obtaining acknowledgement from the customer regarding the completed tasks and detailed activities performed to solve the customer problem and acting as the project technical leader in the service project by analyzing the project requirements and clarifying the project scope
• Ensuring the coordination of the other internal and external technicians and assigns them specific tasks related to service needs and keeping management informed of service missions/projects progress and any problems that arise.
• Ensuring the planning and execution of assigned service activities carried out in house and on site, and monitors progress and long term delivery and taking care of maintenance service project execution with respect to the agreed terms of schedule, quality, cost, margin, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensuring quality of services delivery in line with allocated man hours and build up trustworthy relationship with customers to triggers new service opportunities for the sale team to peruse
• Triggering service sales opportunities to the sales team, providing technical support during offering when requested, attending to tasks assigned by Service Team Manager or Service Manager, ensuring completion of certification or development plans prepared and having fruitful and professional communication with customers

Your background

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering or related disciplines
• 2-4 years of Experience in field service, preferably Drives.
• Experience in Cement or Metal Industry is preferable
• Should have problem solving and conflict management
• Should be flexible to travel (50%), both internally or externally
• Any experience working in ABB products is highly desirable.
• Fluency in both spoken & written English & Arabic language is required. French speaking is preferable.
