Project Management Office Manager

The Power Grids business delivers products, systems, service and software solutions as part of its comprehensive power & automation offering for the grid across the power value chain - serving utility, industry, transportation and infrastructure customers. You will be leading the Project Management Office (PMO) team in the area of responsibility in Power Grids, Egypt. Reporting to the Local Product Manager, you will be supporting Project Managers in defining, implementing and applying project management policies and work instructions.


Your Responsibilities

• Contributing to implementation of continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for the local project operation, in alignment with Business Unit (BU) and Local Business Unit (LBU) business strategies.
• Leading the Project Management Office team, ensuring that ABB policies are followed and ensuring the local portfolio of projects is managed consistently. Developing, and continuously improving respective processes, based on industry best practices.
• Participating in Bid/Sales Phase (like: estimating and resource planning).
• Overseeing project management activities at the portfolio level through project reviews with the management team and project managers.
• Overseeing the proper application of contract and claim management methods in accordance with ABB policies, and contractual agreements.
• Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders of the PMO.
• Developing the project management capacity and capability in line with ABB group directives and processes.
• Ensuring that the area of responsibility is structured to fit the business model, sufficiently staffed with skilled resources and directed appropriately.
• Attending or leading client meetings and driving operations to meet customer satisfaction.

Your background

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Electrical engineering is preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in Project Management of High Voltage Substations with minimum 3 years in project management managerial positions.
• Knowledge of HV substations technical knowledge.
• Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
