Cluster Marketing Director

• Provide the Sales & Marketing team in the region with leadership and direction needed to achieve sales, margin and market share goals.

• Serve as product/market expert related to product positioning, competitive information, product performance, pricing, branding and distribution

• Able to effectively manage several portfolios of projects / products in multiple countries by creating synergized marketing strategies and tactics between the countries to expand the market for Abbott’s product portfolio.

• Strong experience of managing agency partners, including creative, research and events.

• Understand global business dynamics and competitive environment and potential impact on business in each of the region’s countries.

• Ensure robust plan is in place for new product launches and ensure successful execution

• Ensure all business activities comply with the relevant Acts, local legal demands in each country in the region and with Abbott ethical standards

• Ensure strong presence for Abbott at critical or major local/International congresses

• Obtain Marketing Intelligence from the Region markets on a regular basis and update assumptions whilst planning/forecasting

• Use appropriate interpersonal styles and techniques to gain acceptance of ideas or plans; modifying one’s own behavior to accommodate tasks, situations, and individuals involved

• Identify and prioritize product development opportunities by working with customers and develop strategies that convert customer needs into products and services with the support of R&D to translate customer requirements into product requirements and to assess potential tradeoffs.

• Provide guidance on the development and maintenance of packaging and labeling.

• Develop business cases to demonstrate commercial viability of products.

• Ensure that TA leads and product managers manage product lifecycle, conduct post launch reviews, assess line extensions, manage pricing, etc.

• Applies and communicates Abbott values in all decisions internally and externally

• Lives up the Abbott values, leading by example

• Creates a good working environment with focus on acquiring, developing and retaining top talent for

• the corporation

• Acts quickly to ensure that performance issues are effectively resolved and corrective action is instituted as needed to reestablish expected levels of performance.

• Keeps HR fully informed of status of performance issues. Ensures that documentation is maintained per standards

• Maintains relationships with other functional heads inside the cluster and foster team work
