The duties for the Trade Commissioner Assistant, under supervision of the Senior Trade Commissioner, include: Organising meetings and events;Managing flow of information and quality control of documentation;Processing invoices and claims for payment;Tracking budget and maintaining budget documentation;Initiating and responding to communications with clientele (business contacts, trade organisations and government agencies in Jordan and in Canada);Researching and developing reports/ briefings;Preparing letters for signature;Providing interpretation and translation support as required.Essential qualifications:Candidates will be selected initially on the essential qualifications relating to: education, experience and linguistic profile. They must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications. Education:Successful completion of a bachelor’s degreeLanguage:Fluency in English (oral and written)Fluency in Arabic (oral and written)Experience:Recent* experience working in an office environment in an administrative support capacity as part of a teamRecent* experience working for an international organisation or diplomatic missionRecent* experience in a job role with the following duties: o working with external clients responding to queries and providing information; o contacts and record management; o admin support related to budgets and accounting procedures. Recent defined as within the last three yearsKnowledge:Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices;Knowledge of office software packages (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel). Abilities/Competencies Interpersonal skills - ability to communicate with clients and high level officials in an effective and respectful manner;Effective interactive communication (oral and written);Ability to plan and organise workflow;Ability to co-ordinate and analyse information;Adaptability and flexibility;Client focus.Asset Qualifications:Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications: Knowledge of SAPExperience working for an embassy or an international organisationFluency in French (oral and written) If candidates meet the factors listed in the asset qualifications they must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their covering letter.Organizational Needs:Operational Requirements:Must be willing to work occasional irregular hours and overtime and sometimes be available on call outside normal business hours.Condition(s) of Employment:• Applicants must hold a valid working authorisation covering the period of employment. If the employment is of an indeterminate nature, or becomes indeterminate, then the work authorisation should be permanent or lead by itself to permanent work authorisation.
