Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer (Trainee), you will be a part of the Electrification Products Division, Business Unit Medium Voltage Products based in 10th of Ramadan City, Egypt. You will be responsible to support ABB’s business strategy by developing and managing a preferred supply base that enhances ABB’s competitiveness and success of our customers.

Tasks

Your main responsibilities will include the following: Technical contribution: Performing basic survey work, standard computations, analysis and basic design tasks. Collecting data and support production of the engineering design (e.g. creation of draft for the Project Engineer to approve). Assisting other engineers (preparation of permit applications, testing, drawings, computer aided design work, etc.). Exercising judgment on limited details of work and on application of standard methods. Preparing project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables. Contract management: Identifying variation requests to support contract claims issuing. Planning and control: Following work plans and cost estimates in one’s area of responsibility. Ensuring quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost. Risk and opportunity management: Supporting risk assessments and implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility. Documenting and handling technical risks according to mitigation guidelines. Customer: Clarifying technical queries for customers. Interacting with other staff and contractors within one’s scope of deliverables. Supply chain management: Collaborating with the Supply Chain function, reviewing vendor documentation, supporting preparation of RFQs, evaluation of proposals, maintaining the execution of projects, etc. Processes and tools: Using standard processes and tools applicable to one’s area of responsibility. Reporting process and tool inefficiencies, along with suggesting ideas for improvement. People leadership and development: Assigning tasks to and coordinate work with technicians, administrative staff.

Requirements

As the ideal candidate, you should have a Bachelor degree in electrical engineering (5 years degree). Fresh graduates can apply. Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic languages is required. Fluency in French language will be added advantage.
