Role Summary/Purpose
The Project Controls Manager I will develop fully resourced project schedules related to complex rotating equipment maintenance outages in the Industrial, Oil and Gas and Utility industries across the Region. Working with Project Managers and Service Managers,
the Project Controls Manager I will be responsible for the initial production of the project specific schedules based upon a variety of technology and frame master templates, the production of “live” in project schedule updates and project performance reports,
and analysis for use by the execution teams on site, the remotely located Project Managers and Service Managers and customers.
Essential Function
Prepare and develop resource loaded project schedules in line with customer expectations by partnering with Regional Staff Project Managers to analyze forecast outage data Work with the data input teams to analyze site data and provide updates, contextual analysis and reports to a variety of internal and external project stakeholders
Monitor, direct and support outage compliance utilizing designated tracking tools
Collaborate with service delivery teams to recommend course corrections and/or alternative strategies in order to ensure project deliverables are met
Analyze lessons learned and recommend process improvements and template updates to drive future behaviors and methodologies
Travel to outage sites and regional offices as required to support specific project control needs
Manage the Regional Project Matrix and project schedules enterprise
Coordinate best project control practices in accordance with established standards and procedures
Provide internal stakeholders, outage teams and external customers recommendations for improved cost / schedule performance and appropriate corrective action alternatives
Monitor and manage outage reconciliations using the appropriate procedures and guidelines
Capture and track all associated outage costs including site man-hours, subcontractor and material costs
Use project management software to manage various aspects of outages
Manage and maintain a rolling high level 18 month catalog of outages within regions
Assist the internal team with developing potentially complex outage resource loaded outage schedules based upon the templates including assignation of activity codes, resources, and calendars
Assess outage progress against the as sold baseline schedule and prepare the project s-curve based upon actual man-hour and cost data from site
Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Characteristics

Possess high level organizational ability, proven leadership and decision-making capabilities
Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving
Advanced level working knowledge of Primavera (project management software) and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of industry standard processes and procedures in relation to project controls in Earned Value Analysis
Some travel required
English proficiency required
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with three years’ field experience in a Project Controls capacity 7+ years applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge
2+ years managing and developing employees
2+ years of specialized/industry experience
