Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Cairo/Egypt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Financial Clerk in the Financial Management Center (FMC).

The work schedule for this position is: Full-time 40 hours/week.

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time following receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position: No

Relocation Expenses Reimbursed: No

Travel Required: Occasional Travel (Depend on business need.)

Section: Responsibilities / Duties

Duties

Serves as primary Financial Management Center (FMC) clerk and document processer for vouchers sent to the Embassy’s Post Support Unit (PSU). Responsible for perforating certified vouchers, invoices and documents and for filing and disposing of them as appropriate within the regulatory requirements. Incumbent tracks PSU payment vouchers and responds to all voucher related inquires and document requests. Responsible for quarterly collection of funds for services and purchases made by International Cooperative Administrative Support Services (ICASS) subscribers. Reviews vendor payment status to ensure claims have been paid. Incumbent also serves as a back-up to one of the Voucher Examiners.

Experience:

Two years of clerical experience is required.

Job Knowledge:

Familiarity with filing systems.

Completion of secondary school is required. Evaluations:

Language:

Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Writing of English is required. (This will be tested.)

Level IV (fluent) Speaking/Writing of Arabic.

Skills and Abilities:

Must be skilled in operating PC, scanner, calculators, MS Excel and MS Outlook.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Cairo/Egypt may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.
